Gariwerd

Traditionally known as Gariwerd, The Grampians is home to the largest concentration of Aboriginal rock art sites in the state. Visit Brambuk - the National Park and Cultural Centre in Halls Gap to learn more about the area's rich Aboriginal culture and history.

Snow in the Grampians

Just when you thought The Grampians couldn't get any prettier - if you drive up Mt William in the heart of winter, you may be lucky enough to see the landscape decorated with snow! 

Look down on the clouds

Some days you can find yourself looking down on the clouds from the spectacular Boroka Lookout - a truly remarkable sight. 

Barbecue in Halls Gap

The park in the middle of Halls Gap has fantastic undercover barbecue facilities and an excellent playground. This is a great place to stop for lunch while taking in the remarkable views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

Dogs in the Grampians National Park

Please note that dogs are not allowed in the Grampians National Park except within vehicles on sealed roads and in sealed parking areas.

Three waterfalls in one walk

MacKenzie Falls, Broken Falls and Fish Falls are all located along the beautiful MacKenzie River. All three waterfalls can be accessed via the same walk, beginning at either the MacKenzie Falls Carpark or the Zumsteins Picnic Area and Historical Site.

Have you booked your campsite?

Most campgrounds within the Grampians National Park require bookings/fees to be made in advance. Bookings can be made easily from the Parks Victoria website or by calling into Brambuk the National Park and Cultural Centre in Halls Gap. 

Campgrounds with bush showers

Bush showers are available at the Stapylton, Jimmy Creek, Smiths Mill and Plantation campgrounds.

The Pinnacle

One of the most action-packed walks of the Grampians National Park is the 2 km walk from the Wonderland Carpark to The Pinnacle. Along the way you will pass the Grand Canyon, Cool Chamber, Bridal Veil Falls and Silent Street before arriving at The Pinnacle for incredible views over Halls Gap and surrounding peaks.

Closures and change of conditions

Before you visit the Grampians National Park, be sure to plan your trip by checking in on the Parks Victoria website for any walk/road closures. You can find updates at www.parkweb.vic.gov.au

Free camping in the Grampians

No bookings or fees are required for camping at the Plantation, Kalymna Falls and Wannon Crossing campgrounds. 

Brambuk the National Park and Cultural Centre

Brambuk conducts cultural and educational activities, operates the Bushtucker Café and gift shop, as well as providing Grampians National Park Information services on behalf of Parks Victoria. Brambuk the National Park and Cultural Centre is a fantastic first stop when visiting Halls Gap.

Check brakes and tyres

The roads through the mountains in the Grampians National Park offer gorgeous scenery and spectacular views - but keep in mind that you will be travelling up and down hills on narrow, winding roads. Ensure your vehicle's brakes and tyres are in excellent condition.

Phone signal/GPS

Phone signal and GPS is limited in some areas of the Grampians National Park. To be safe, get a screenshot or hard copy of your map before you go. Detailed maps are available for purchase in Halls Gap at Brambuk - the National Park and Cultural Centre
